Who is Mantidy for?
Mantidy is for anyone who likes to be organised and stylish. Our typical demographic is cool guys from 25yrs old to 50yrs. We will also be launching a set for women, soon.
Describe the man who uses your products.
He’s a bit of a dude, everything in its place, always on the go, is a leader rather than a follower.
Witch movie character would use Mantidy’s products?
It has to be James Bond – maybe the future will include hideaway gadgets that will stun your enemies.
What is your brand’s strongest qualities?
We think about what our man doesn’t realise that he needs – creative luxury. We also have an ethical approach to our production. Our herringbone range are hand woven in the Philippines. We are helping the women who weave our leather by investing in their infrastructure; including running water and solar powered energy.
What made you start up Mantidy?
After travelling on a sabbatical i got sick of losing chargers, cables, power banks in hotels, in my bag – I just thought there must be a better way to keep things organised. The same went for grooming items, nail clippers, tweezers getting stuck in the linings of wash bags. This is where the light-bulb moment came.
If you hadn’t created Mantidy, what would yo do now?
I have always worked in the fashion game – i was a buyer since i was in my early 20’s and worked my way up to being in charge of a team. I have enjoyed doing up properties also, this will be something I will always do.
How does your profession affect your way of dressing?
I am a bit of a scruff really – my profession only allows me to make an informed choice of brands.
Your favourite drink/cocktail?
Can’t go wrong with an espresso martini! Or a nice glass of red.
How do you drink your coffee?
I have a Nespresso machine and couldn’t live without it – 1 or 2 a day with hot milk.
How do you like your steak?
My father always used to say ‘Pull its horns off and wipe its backside’ – I like it medium rare myself.
